Principal-Specific Technical Competency Assessments
MIS conducts technical competency assessments using our facilities for crew endorsed by third-party clients. Currently, MIS conducts trade testing for the following:
- Plumbing
- Carpentry
- Tile Setting
- Fabricating (Plating)
- Electrical Trade Test
- Pipe Insulation
- Pipe Fitting
- Marine Refrigeration and Air Conditioning
- Welder (GTAW, SMAW, FCAW, Oxy-Ace)

Accredited Programs
Carpentry NC II
This qualification consists of competencies on rough and finishing carpentry needed for the fabrication and installation of wooden materials and basic roof assembly.
Plumbing NC II
This qualification consists of competencies needed for installing multiple plumbing system units with multi-point hot- and cold-water lines for medium-rise buildings. It also includes plumbing repair and maintenance work.
Tile Setting NC II
This qualification consists of competencies in performing work activities involving laying, repair, and other applications of tiles on walls, floors, and other plain and curved surfaces.
Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) NC I
This qualification consists of competencies needed to weld carbon steel plates components as specified by layout, blueprints, diagrams, work order, welding procedure, or oral instructions using SMAW welding equipment.
Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) NC II
This qualification consists of competencies needed to weld carbon steel plate and pipe components as specified by layout, blueprints, diagrams, work order, welding procedure, or oral instructions using SMAW welding equipment.
Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) NC III
This qualification consists of competencies needed to weld alloy steel plates components as specified by layout, blueprints, diagrams, work order, welding procedure or oral instructions using SMAW welding equipment.
SMAW 6G Pipe / HL045
This course covers specifications and standard competencies prescribed in the Qualification Testing of Welders, particularly 6G pipe welding position techniques. This assessment certification has a competitive advantage in terms of quality training, technical competency, work efficiency, and company portfolio.
Stage 1: Welding Refresher Course (5 days)
Stage 2: DNV Welding Assessment (1 day)
Stage 3: Certification as DNV Class Welder
SMAW 6G Pipe / HL045
This covers specifications and standard competencies prescribed in the Qualification Testing of Welders, particularly 6G pipe welding position techniques. This assessment certification has a competitive advantage in terms of quality training, technical competency, work efficiency, and company portfolio.
